Location: Washington, DC (hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Terms: Full-Time

RIVA Solutions is seeking a Configuration Control Specialist (CCS) to support Configuration Control/Management tasks to include providing configuration documentation and change control for systems operated by the OS OCIO, to include the Economic Development Administration (EDA), Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs (OUSEA) and the Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) Network (HCHBnet) that supports all tenants within the HCHB.  The ideal CCS will have a customer service mindset and focus to assist in establishing processes and procedures to facilitate easy access, sharing, and dissemination of information with DOC customers at the direction of the government. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provides advice regarding change control and release management activities needed to develop, facilitate, and implement a standard, integrated change management program.
  • Responsible for development of communication and change management information and materials to facilitate selection, control, implementation, and evaluation of organizations initiatives.
  • Maintain the overall CM process and baselines for release management, testing, integration, and operations.
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to create and maintain configuration baseline.
  • Implement and track version control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the operational system.
  • Plan, identify, and maintain the original and current configuration baseline of hardware, software, and documentation.
  • Execute change and release control, via Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and perform configuration audits and reporting.
  • Use and recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures.
  • Maintain configuration data security, quality, and integrity.

    Requirements

    • Minimum Education: BS Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Minimum of three (5) years of experience leading configuration management programs

     Desired Qualifications

    • Prior federal experience at Department of Commerce Bureau (NOAA, Census, PTO, etc.)
    • Formal Configuration Management Training
    • Knowledge of CMPro, JIRA, Confluence, or similar configuration management or data management tools
    • Proactive self-starter
    • Excellent organization and planning
    • Clear verbal and written communication
