RIVA Solutions, a leader in IT government contracting and systems integrator specializing in digital transformation and modernization, is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role serves as the primary support for all general ledger functions, requiring adept management of various financial aspects including assets, expenses, and reconciliations. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for detail, proficiency in accounting principles, and a commitment to delivering results in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Expense Management Excellence: Serve as the point of contact for employees regarding expense reports and AmEx charges. This involves reconciling AmEx charges, assisting employees in reporting their expenses accurately, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Asset Oversight: Take charge of managing assets such as property, plant, & equipment (PP&E), including maintaining the fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules. This crucial aspect ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Conduct bank account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and statements. This includes identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly to maintain financial integrity.
  • Accounts Payable Oversight: Review accounts payable (A/P) vouchers and vendor setup to ensure accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and proactive communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Expense Report Process Management: Streamline and manage the employee expense report process, ensuring timely submission, review, and reimbursement. This involves implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepaid Expenses Reconciliation: Reconcile prepaid expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This includes monitoring prepaid accounts, adjusting entries as necessary, and reconciling balances.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and undertake additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives and initiatives. This may include participating in special projects or process improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience with at least one year of Government Contracting experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites, with demonstrated ability to leverage advanced Excel functions for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering accurate and timely results.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced work environment and deliver to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically to address challenges and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • A passion for innovation and continuous learning, with a proactive approach to staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
