Job Title: Mid. Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Specialist Location:

Project Description:

We are seeking a Business Analyst/Quality Assurance (BA/QA) expert to contribute to a high-profile project within the USDA. The initiative aims to enhance the NIFA Reporting System (NRS) by leveraging Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong capabilities in API testing, SQL querying, and comprehensive knowledge of data models and functional testing. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all phases of project development for the IT team, from planning and design to development and implementation.
  • Write detailed technical development specifications and monitor project-related tasks.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to team members while managing concurrent project activities.
  • Participate in the quality assurance process, ensuring that new and existing application functionalities meet user requirements.
  • Analyze and document software application technical requirements and specifications.
  • Craft use cases and execute SQL queries to identify issues and formulate solutions.
  • Conduct software quality assurance for newly developed functionalities or applications.
  • Develop test plans for automated regression testing and oversee their execution.
  • Deliver user training and provide documentation support as needed.
  • Analyze and document business requirements, including legislative needs and application maintenance plans.
  • Review technical aspects with the development team before code changes.
  • Develop test plans that cover various aspects of quality assurance.
  • Assist in diagnosing incidents and providing resolutions in collaboration with service desk staff.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with all team members and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of company applications and their integration within various environments.
  • Proficiency in software application design principles and documentation methodologies.
  • Experience in creating use cases and in configuration management.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting software application and database issues.
  • Strong public speaking skills and experience in conducting user training.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, leadership qualities, and teamwork skills.
  • High-level analytical, logical, and detail-oriented capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience with grant application and payment systems including
  • Grant application business process lifecycle

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years work experience in Business Analysis and Quality Assurance.
